Presumed F.A.Q. (some facts written by Andy Pitcher):

1. ‘What?’: We took Impulse Responses of this Aluminum Guitar’s strings Sympathetically Reverberating in various combinations of tunings, pickup positions, and vibrato movement to make a collection of IRs you can use with any convolution Reverb IR loader, plug-in, or device. You can also use them as a guitar cab IR if you’re feeling particularly wild. Yes you read that correctly -- not a "spring" reverb but a STRING REVERB...
2. ‘How?’: One of the main goals in designing this @mickswoodandwire guitar was a physical sound exciter system to get physical feedback and sympathetic vibrations out of the instrument. There is a sonic exciter connected to the aluminum spine that makes up all string related areas of the instrument. This is being fed a sine wave to excite the strings. That result is recorded via the pickups and through some FFTs or whatever an IR is born.
3. ‘Why?’: it fucking rips are you kidding this is the coolest thing ever.
4. 'Where?’: God City Studio in Salem, Massachusetts. Recorded D.I. because High on Fire was melting amplifiers elsewhere in the building and because that is the best way to do what we needed to do.
5. ‘Who?’: Ultimate recording, producing, and music tech legend Zach Weeks and freako electronic guitarist Andy Pitcher.

All IRs were captured at 96 kHz / 24-bit resolution. Originally released in May 2023.
